Our Curriculum

The pupils who attend The New Level Academy exhibit a wide range of both emotional and educational needs, which by their very nature can impinge negatively upon their progress. The school therefore provides a flexible curriculum that addresses all areas of pupil needs.

The school’s statement of intent supports the two main aims of the National Curriculum:

  • To provide opportunities for all pupils to learn and achieve.
  • To promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development and prepare all pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of life.
    • The curriculum at The New Level Academy is intended to promote learning and personal growth and development. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also a range of extra-curricular vocational and placement activities that the school organises with outside agencies in order to enrich the experience and address the challenges of the pupils.  Our enterprises are staffed by amazing teams of young people who have struggled with mainstream education. Their enterprise work experience is supported by accredited training enabling trainees to build confidence and make good choices for the next steps in life. We aim to teach the pupils at The New Level Academy positive, responsible attitudes developing knowledge and skills, including social and basic life skills so that they may become contributory members of the extended community
